Mouse scroll is not working

Reported by: vitorg Owned by: somebody

Description

If I view any long file using standard gnome-terminal with command "less filename" then I can use mouse scroll to scroll down/up in file, but it is unable to do the same using guake - file content just not scrolled.

Ubuntu 8.10.

It is already affect to "man" command, when manual takes more than 1 page I can scroll it down/up only using keyboard, but not mouse. It is very annoying me.

Weird, it worked for me both in less and man. Aren't you having problems your readline library or your X?

Can someone help us testing in more environments?

Thank you!

I don't have any problems with X or readline library. As I said mouse scroll works fine in "less" and "man" if using standard gnome-terminal, but only don't work in Guake.

Yes, that's what I said, I've tested less, man and other scrollable programs in guake and it worked.

ps.: To make sure it still does not work you should test the development version from git.

Thank you =)

To test development version I need to have *.deb package, can you provide it?

Changed 4 years ago by lincoln

humm, I'll look if someone is interested in provide a .deb snapshot.

And about installing guake from source? If you need some help you can meet some guake friends in irc.freenode.net on the #guake channel.

Thank you.

Hey, I have a .deb package, can you test it for us?

The snapshot (hehe, not our friend, but the package =) can be found in the following url:

 http://leite.alfaiati.net/~lincoln/guake_0.4.0-1_i386.deb

Yap! I tested it under Ubuntu Intrepid with all latest updates, but I can't install this deb, gdebi says: "Error: dependency is not satisfiable: python-central". I have python-central package installed version 0.6.7ubuntu1.

Humm, I have no machine with ubuntu installed, I'll ask a friend to build it in intrepid and I'll post it here again, thanks =)

Thanks, waiting for new build!

Just for the reference, it works fine (for both man and less) in Fedora 9 and 10.

  • milestone 0.4.0 deleted

ok I let the bug open for the moment even if it does not look like a bug in guake itself.

I also remove the milestone so that we can release 0.4.0

  • status changed from new to closed
  • resolution set to worksforme

so, I didn't notice this happening (neither in ubuntu). So I'm closing this bug. If it happens again, please reopen it.

Thanks =D
